Setting up your SPAM filters:
By setting your email client (RiderWeb Webmail, Outlook,
Netscape Messenger) to filter mail with a score above a certain
level it is possible to eliminate SPAM from your mail box.
We recommend a SPAM score of 5 stars (*****) as a starting
threshold.
Setting up Outlook
This setup will move all tagged SPAM to a SPAM folder.
- Select Tools > Tools Wizard > New
- Check > Message when they arrive > Click next
- Check > With Specific Word in the Subject [screen

- Click "specific word" in the next box and Enter the text
"(*****" where the number of "*" is your desired SPAM score.
Click Add > Click OK.
- Click > Next, then check "move it to the specified folder",
below click on "specified", then click on New and name your
new folder SPAM. Click OK. [screen

- Click > Next, add any exceptions, if any (none needs
to be checked), click > Next again. Click Finish.
Setting up Outlook Express
This setup will move all tagged SPAM to a SPAM folder.
- 1) Select Tools > Message Rules > Mail
- New Mail Rule > in #1 check the box "Where the subject
line contains specific word". [screen

- In box #3 you will see text > click on "contains specific
words", then Enter the text "(*****" where the number of
"*" is your desired SPAM score. Click Add. [screen

- In the #2 box (of the New Mail Rules) specify what action
to take, select 'move it to a specified folder'.
- In box #3 click on the word 'specified'. [screen

- Click on 'new folder' & name it SPAM.
- In the last box you can give your 'new rule' a name such
as 'spam rule'.
- Click OK.
Setting up Netscape Messenger [screen

This setup will move all tagged SPAM to a SPAM folder.
- Select Edit->Message Filters from within Netscape Messenger
- Select New (filter)
- Enter Filter Name "SPAM", Select "Match all of the following".
- Select "Subject" from first drop down list
- Select "Contains" from second drop down list
- Enter the text "(*****" where the number of "*" is your
desired SPAM score
- Under Filter Action, select "move to folder" then "SPAM".
You will need to create a new SPAM folder
- Press ok.
- Press ok in "Message Filters"
